The Lena and Lido Show

Postby jlw034 » Sat Jul 04, 2020 8:18 pm

The new pup has arrived! He's a lot of fun and a lot of work. Laughs per hour have certainly gone up.

Full name Cedarwoods Comfortably Numb. We'll call him Lido (lie-doe). Any health care folks get the joke?

Lots of adventures to come...hope the high tail stays.

She's been quite good so far. Lots of chewing on her beard/ear/tail, so we'll see how long it lasts!

And the Fun Begins! Yea that high tail set is nice.

You have already achieved a more peaceful moment than Spud and Tess have in 4 months. No end to her desire to play and wrestle.

Awesome that you added a cedarwoods pudelpointer to the mix! I have a feeling this post will be very informative.

Love seeing adult dogs play gently with little puppies. Says alot about their good mental makeup.

Great pup!
Hope they will make a good hunting pair.

Pups are fun, especially the hunting breeds.
I can't wait to pick up my pup in November.

Love the pics of the pudelpointer pup. Keep the pics coming. There are several of us here that have cedarwood dogs.

Thanks folks. It's a good thing he's cute or my wife might have kicked him out. He's drinking more/peeing more than I remember from my other pups. Still early enough that I'm not too concerned, but the piddles inside are getting the best of the Mrs.

I know, I know, I know. Bumpers aren't chew toys.

Peeing.... I always limited water to what is healthy, not everything they can drink. Water is available only at certain times.

Great looking pup....

Thanks OR. My research says a dog needs about 30ml/lb/day. Measured that out and he went through it by noon. It has been quite hot, we'll see.

JLW... Lots of statistics don't apply to hunting dogs. I let pups have all they want till right after exercise. What they drink out of the lake/river is just fine because that's usually AM but after 2:00 PM I try to limit. I feed dogs early like 5:00 PM with water available. Once they take a drink, that's it. I've had 8 week old pups hold it for 8/10 hours sleeping with us in bed and other situations, no problem. It's all about taking control.

As always, the advice is much appreciated. We'll see what we figure out.

It would be funnier if you had another dog named Cain.
