Rio Grande boondoggle

Postby J D Patrick » Thu Dec 20, 2018 7:01 pm

Aggie and I headed to the Rio Grande desert area to chase quail and do some training

we had a blast - didn't kill a lot but it was fun, peaceful, and she got on some birds - I'll definitely be back

Pictures aren't of the coolness nor quality of some of you all, but I did my best with what I had

Every natural place I have been has its own beauty, this included. Aggie is a looker. Thanks for Sharing. Did you get on quail each day?

JD, hope you enjoyed Texas. The country down around the river is big and desolate. Knocking around down there is high adventure. Hope the blue quail were kind to y'all. They can be ba$tard$.

thanks - yes, we got into them each day - in head high brush, with them running fools some days like a dang pheasant! That pretty desert country with low brush gave us none - they were all down along the river in that stuff,,,

Looks like beautiful - but harsh - country. I think quail are tough everywhere. Oftentimes, finding them seems like the easy part. Them buggers know when to run and when and exactly where to flush, seemingly always keeping cover between them and you, and rarely flying straight. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.

That is some beautiful country and dog. Thanks for taking us along. Nice pics as well.
You have to be smarter than the dog to train it.
