Making The Circuit

Been on the road for several days. Setting up stuff for next fall. Just being outa town is great. Stopped in Laurel MT to talk stud dogs for the kid in around 9 months. Hit the road east. Got into Williston this morning, got out of Williston fast as I could. Turned south, now hiding out in Hettinger. Going into SD tomorrow. Nice being on the road with the kid. She likes this motel life. Phez are not nesting yet up north. Going to be a late first hatch. Just cracking out of winter up there. Head for home on Monday, spend the night in Missoula if things go well. Home Tuesday early afternoon. This time zone thing sucks when driving east, much better west. I stick with PDT and ignore local. Think I’m about 5 miles from Central time?

I didn't think much of Hettinger when I was there in the late fall. Only decent motel in town was full and not much for restaurants. I'd rather live in my trailer.

Affirmative.... Didn't see many birds around there either unlike another area. Cover was a little taller which may have hampered visibility. Everywhere I went it was real wet. Farmers are having a hard time getting seed in the ground. Hen phez are not sitting on eggs yet, still hanging with the roosters.
