Earl passed his HZP this past Friday - was glad for that - I don't claim any great skill as a dog trainer, but he overcame that and did just fine,,,

now on to the rest of hunting season and continued training towards the VGP test

Congrats! I know the feeling, just finished my first and dog failed first test but did well on second a week later. I did try a little hunting prior to the test but saw first hand the set backs to training when she flushed and ran down a pheasant stocked for the youth hunt a week or two before the first test! Then to top it off, my supposedly force fetched dog didn't retrieve it to me!!!
