Break Action Options

Postby ForTheBirds84 » Mon Nov 25, 2019 1:30 pm

Looking for opinions on entry level doubles. I currently hunt with a new styled Browning A5. But, I have gotten involved with NAVHDA, and though the guys have let me be a shooter with thier break opens, I need to look into getting a double barrel. The only real traits of intersts in my search are functionability and reliability. I had a Stoeger Condor at one time and it was almost usless. Maybe I got a lemon. It had issues with firing pin springs I think. But what knowledge, experience and opinions can you offer on cheap entry level doubles?

I really like my CZ Doubles, made very well and so far have held up. Forrest

I too hunted with an A-5 for years. Also have gotten into NAVHDA. Went looking for an affordable SxS. I chose the CZ Bobwhite. Very happy with it. It’s my go to gun now. They just came out with a version 2 this year.

I use a Baikal IZH27E. They can be picked up on gunbroker, et al. Those Baikal O/U or SxS shotguns are real warhorses. I do suggest after market choke tubes that are non-toxic friendly. I use a .20Ga. but any Gauge will be a darn good shotgun.

There's an entry level Beretta (not mine) over on ifish for 395 iirc, not likely to beat that.
