Does anyone have any experience using Boykins on Bobwhite or Blue Quail?

Johnnyhouse quail work wonders for steadying a flushing spaniel. Boykin wouldn't be my third or fourth choice on working them afield. No spaniel would save the disenfranchised Britt. But partridges in thick cover - bring it on for the mud poodles (Boykins).

Sounds to me like some swamp fun - but the quartering would be sloppy to see. Rabbits - canecutters - a better Boykin bet.

I know of a guy in Central NC that really gets it done with the WC and a boykin. Seems to do ok on Grouse when he gets out of state.

I live in Texas. Woodcock on public land is available. I would like to use a Boykin retrieving waterfowl ( not in extremely cold weather) doves, and as a possible blood tracker.
If I could hunt pheasant, I would like to hunt with a Boykin too.
I just want to know if anyone has experience hunting blue quail with them.
Quail hunting in Texas is a RICH mans game.
But there are public land opportunities in West ate as that offere blue quail snd bobwhites.
Private hunting in Texas is very pricey.

I know the About versatile hunting Dodd. I had one, was at one point a NAVHDA member. My sweet Brittany passed away.
I can’t afford pricey quail leases these days.

And as another enthralling aspect of their versatility as a working spaniel, most companionable.

LilMissSally, ( me little brown dog ) it a great quail/pheasant hunter. Even hunts rabbits and squirrels. I do not hunt both fur and feathers on the same days. When headed to the fields, I give Sally either a wing or a Large scrap of fur, depending on what I am targeting for the day. For the most part, she get it figured out, a few times she will target one while we hunting the other, but for the most part she figures it out by time we reach the fields. I have hunted water fowl a few times, not a big waterfowl hunter, geese tend to be on the bigger size for her to retrieve, ducks are fine.

Great family dog, loves to ride on me motorcycle. Good in a canoe also, small enough to pick her up into canoe without tipping. I would/will defiantly get another Boykin once Sally is gone.
