Veterinarian help

Postby Bmcghan22 » Sun Mar 15, 2020 10:27 pm

So I’m expecting my WPG in about 10 days and I’m having a really hard time finding a vet that will have my dogs best interest not many openly gun dog vets around that I can find so if anyone has any recommendations of a good vet with gun dog experience in western Washington I would really appreciate it. Driving a little ways to insure the best for my dog isn’t a problem. I just want to find a vet that’s familiar with gun dogs and has my dogs best interest.

Thanks.

Columbia River Veterinary Specialists in Vancouver, Washington are excellent. They have orthopedists, surgeons, neurologists, internists, dental specialists, etc. I've used them multiple times. On the other hand, I use my local vet for most things - abcesses from cheat grass, ear issues, minor injuries, vaccinations, etc - in addition for advice for when specialist services are needed. Best to have a local vet who knows you and your dogs - just like a family doc for yourself.

Thanks for the info I did look into the Columbia River when I was searching. I’m about 3 hours from Portland but the pups like a kid in my eyes so got to give him the best

How far are you from Astoria? I like the vets there because they don't have their hand on your wallet as soon as you walk through the door.
