Postby AverageGuy » Fri Mar 06, 2020 8:00 pm

My pup started flying yesterday at 2pm. 4 Hour layover in Denver. Landed at midnight then another 2 hour drive home. Did not seem to phase her. Gonna call Her Tess.

Sweet! Now the fun starts. Tess looks older than seven or eight weeks. Airline restrictions on shipping? More time with mom?

What does Spud think? I'm excited to watch her progress... she might take Spud's place as my favorite internet dog! Those be some big shoes to fill though.
You have to be smarter than the dog to train it.

Thank you Folks. Man a young puppy is a lot of work! Porter, what kind of pup did you get? Bruce you have a keen eye, she was 10 weeks old on thursday and yes the airlines required that age to fly her.

Things are progressing, walking in the CRP, went down the pond several times, and took a short stroll through the timber. Working my standard puppy stuff.

Hallway play retrieve has never failed yet. This was the day after she arrived trying to self film. Did 6 in a row in rapid succession this morning and left her bouncing around for more. I hide the homemade dummy and give her a treat when I end the session.

This was 2 days after her arrival and only a couple of sessions of "Hunt Dead". Terrible video but check out her nose to the ground and persistence. It is so easy.

Introduced Tess and Spud 2 days ago, and did another session yesterday. She is crazy for him. Spud would love to play with her but I do not trust the mismatch in size. He did well.

We had high winds all day yesterday and it blew about 20 old feed sacks out of the horse barn and into the timber behind it. Spud's your man if you need a feed sack killed. Good for chuckle if you want to check it out.

Great videos. Here's my ten week old PP fetching, sitting, and dropping on command. I sent you a PM on the technique I used and, if anybody's interested, I can post it here or on another thread. The technique is suitable for all age dogs and will keep you from having to do a traditional FF. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQZ4pL2qrTI
