Spud bringing in our last rooster of the season which made our 5th State for the wild roosters this year.
Got in some good late season waterfowl hunts including some 13-14lb Honkers on the river.
Had some good action on Ducks as well. After passing many Hooded Mergansers over the years I finally took one for the wall and to give Spud a retrieve early in the hunt.
Brother, Spud and I got into some excellent action on the Mallards one day.
14 degrees and ice flows in the strong river current made for challenging conditions.

Our Coon season ran until the end of February and we made the most of it. Spud is smart, capable and versatile. Take him to the woods at night and he will hunt for a hot coon track, work it to the tree and bark treed until I arrive. Finish the job as needed when I shoot it out. Treed several every night we went. Hopefully there will fewer quail and turkey nests destroyed because of it.
