GSP male 8 years old. Torn ACL. TPLO?

Postby Holly/Grit » Mon Jul 13, 2020 7:16 pm

Is there an alternative to the TPLO surgery that is worth considering?

Quotes seem to run from $3,500 to $6,500 with the opposite side
likely needing it as well overtime.

This guy was trial dog before the incident.

Anyone on the West Coast have a good vet they used?

Any ideas??

Thank you

Get on the website, and do a search. It’s local NW and the topic has been discussed in detail. Maybe you could get on the hunting forum and start a new thread with your question. Should get several responses if you ask.

I would get in contact with your State University vet clinic and try to get your dog there for an evaluation and options. Oregon State and UC Davis are both supposed to be good on the west coast. The success rate likely varies on the extent of the injury but it is a lot higher than it used to be.

I found this article from an Oregon vet to be interesting. Not sure where you are located but something to consider. ... lo-or-tta/

Best of luck.
