Dog always pooping while conpeting

Postby japostol » Sun Aug 19, 2018 1:13 pm

I have a 3yr old GSP. Always poops excessively particularly when competing or training. He will take first poop fairly quick after getting in field and then literally will stop every minute and just poop running stool. I believe it's from being wound up from excitement but rather inconvenient when trialing. Wondering if I gave him Purina forti flora during these times if it would help?

What are you feeding?

Fortiflora is never a bad idea.

Loyall pro...stool is fine otherwise....only when excited in field or trialing.

Exercise does affect the bowels. When you feed is more important than what you feed....sometimes.

Mine does the same, every last bit... one of these days she'll turn herself inside out.

My buddy says the dog poops to shed heat.

Maybe try extending the time between the last feed and the trial (or training or hunting)?
