Any guys in Charlotte area training their own Versatile dogs

Versatile dog training group in the Charlotte NC Area?
I am planning on getting a Drathaar puppy as soon as reasonable.
Wondering if there are those in the Charlotte area who have a group or individuals wanting to form a group.
I believe a well functional group can be superior to individual efforts.

For example: I have extensive retriever training experience but no experience training pointers or doing searches etc.
Ideally I could work with a pointer guy that needs additional retriever info.
Or none of us know and we work together to figure it out.

Let me know if interested. Even if I haven't received a dog yet I will work throwing birds, doing set ups or do whatever I can do to help.

Regards

Chris

There are a couple of NAVHDA Chapters. I think the one that might be closest to you is the Carolinas Chapter. They run their tests at the Sand hills Game land. They also alternate where they are doing training so they may be the best ones to look up. The other Chapter is the Tarheel Chapter. They are in Lillington. A little bit of a drive but not too far. They run their tests and training at Rusty Guns Kennels.
Both Chapters have Facebook pages and they are on the NAVHDA site.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response.
I am aware of the NAVHDA and VDD groups and I hope to train with them as much as possible.
Each of those grounds are over 2hrs away each way.
I am looking to train 3-4 days a week plus those training days.
My experience is I will pick some things up with those groups But the vast majority will be accomplished on my own or with a local group.

Thanks Again

2 hours is pretty typical to meet up with a training partner. The dogs aren't rare but they aren't common either.

Most drive 1-4 hours every other weekend and then train solo in between.

This group also doesn't get the traffic it used to. You might have more luck networking via Facebook groups.

I'm east of you (I live right close to where they train in the Sandhills) - if you join the Carolina's NAVHDA chapter or our VDD-GNA NC folks of the SEHC you will meet folks from over that way. Not sure that they ever frequent this forum.

that's your best bet I expect

Check in with all your 'local' groups, especially if you are mid-way between the groups' training areas. Odds are there are others that are in those groups near or next door to you.
