N. Carolina ?

Who to see, what to do? Going to be there in a couple of weeks or so and don’t want to waste the whole time by doing only girly stuff.

N. Carolina around Boone and Virginia have some good trout fishing. My daughter lives around Raleigh and I spend my time trying to not get killed in the traffic.
I just hate seeing birds die of natural causes unless I'm that natural cause.

We’ll be in Raleigh and near Charlotte. Wife has been to the Biltmore but says she’d do it again. Not really my kind of thing....neither is traffic.

well all depends on what you want to do,,,both cities offer a ton of sporting events (not my thing),,,and manly drinking establishments (not my thing either),,,

if it is in the spring - give me a shout - we can go fishing, turkey hunting, or dog goofing off,,,,,,,

have a good trip

as far as entertainment goes you'll be in the heart of Appalachian music so check out the "old-time" music opportunities in whatever city you're going to be in. Old-time is not bluegrass or other permutations, but the stuff that all other fiddle/banjo music was derived.

The Biltmore does have Skeet Range and Sporting Clays course so it may be worth it for you.

asheville / the Biltmore is a bit of a haul from Raleigh or Charlotte - not undoable but over 4 hrs from Raleigh and over 2 from Charlotte

if shooting is what you want to do, there are private (pay) and public ranges in both areas http://www.ncwildlife.org/Outdoor-Activities/Shooting-Ranges

I mentioned the Biltmore because it was a place mentioned that he wasn't interested but the wife was. If he is going to be around Charlotte and Raleigh and not venturing too far there are a number of places to shoot skeet and Sporting Clays. Hunting Creek Preserve is one of them that is right in Harmony. Not that far of a drive.

Tarheel NAVHDA has a test 3/3-3/4 and Carolina 3/17-3/18. Being new to the state I'm still exploring. If you can get to the biltmore from CLT, it's worth the trip. Don't know too much about what to do around Raleigh, despite living 50min away.

Could grab a beer with a fellow dog guy if the timing works out. PM me the dates if you're interested.
