Doc E - versatile lab recommendations

Postby Misskiwi67 » Mon Mar 20, 2017 2:35 pm

I have a close friend in Minnesota looking for his first hunting dog. Primarily a duck hunter but will hunt pheasants in South Dakota 1 week a year. Has been interested in versatile breeds like Munsterlanders, but decided to stick with what he grew up with for his first dog. Needs a good off switch, will be sent to a trainer and live with twin 2 year old boys.

Suggestions for breeders my friend should look into?

Sauk River Labs, out of Minnesota would be a good place to start.
But only hunting Upland one week a year ----- might not be worth the extra $$ over a good flushing Lab.
