bird in bush , dog points/ scents animal and charges in / pull checkcord hard to stop dog....... 97% of handlers do exactly this.
What did I just describe ???
Negative training.
When you pull back a child , animal will go the opposite direction.

I have found over the last decade dogs are breed with more intelligence,
However there development of natural instincts seem to wain.

I have solutions that most don't want to hear , but as the pro advised in Colorado , give the dog more time to develop.

Of corse I don't know what I am talking about but when my champion bred mutt started sight hunting I broke it down into terms he understands. I stopped putting all of his feed in his bowl and started scattering it around the backyard. It was in grass to deep to see so he had to start searching for it. Didn't take long till a young dog naturally hit the downwind side of the yard sniffing up some kibble. Hunger is a great teacher.
