Kris,

Why such a strong interest in eliminating the requirement and/or extending the vaccine interval for rabies vacc? Do you really believe this vacc casues health issues?

We aren't interested in eliminating the requirement for rabies vaccines -- this bill would exempt dogs which have been deemed by a veterinarian to be too ill to be vaccinated -- i.e., dogs with metasticized cancers, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, those who have suffered anaphylactic shock to the vaccine in the past, etc..

There are rabies challenge studies demonstrating a minimum duration of immunity of 5 years and serological studies proving a 7 year minimum duration of immunity. The science has shown that overvaccination can and does cause adverse reactions.
