Yo Spin......

Did ya get it with a 305 or a 350ci MOTOR. The 305's had soft cams in them and slowly would just not make any power, good on gas just no power. Had a couple of those era BLAZERS, the 350 is the jammmy.
The layout of the BLAZER was just perfect, not too big not too small, with room enough for a couple few Wooleys. Watch out for the rust.
Prepare to change universals, all of em. I threw a small 4 bbl Edelbrock carb on my last one, tossing the stock carb and it ran great. We put in a new tailgate with a CRANK back window eliminating all the glass woes. Keeping it rust free was a chore, but a very nice truck.

Rotsa Ruck......

Unfortunately it has the 305 with the 3.08 gears. It only has 60K so I am going to plat it by ear. I think I will park it in the winter to keep the salt off it. The interior is near perfect. Just plant to use it from September-October. I am told I should be able to tow my trailer as long as I keep it out of overdrive and put on a independent trans cooler. We will see. If not I have a 350 in mind.

Spin, you can drop in a lower ratio. It's not too bad of a job. While in there, drop in some ARB air lockers to get you deep in those grouse woods. Lots of options for those 10 bolt axles.

Yo Spin-

Get thee to a tire shop
Ya need some good grippity-grips for the BLAZER,
I run the Goodyear Wranglers with the Kevlar belts, we've run some 50 thousand hardcore miles and they're still a grippin....very little "hum" too...

Hey, there was a kit...pop the fiberglass top off and install a kit- to make it a full fledged camper. with a retractable roof, it was kind of neat. It required some spring work (add a leaf). Now you're stylin.....

LOL Yes the tires suck. I have some A/T tires on the Tahoe that I am going to swap. I am going to get a soft top with a roll bar to protect the Italians. I also plan to remove the passenger seat and deck the cab out to all one level. Plenty of sleeping room.

Dang! That some serious horsepower. Didn't know a motor with that many cubic inches could rev that high.

I had a '72 4 X 4 with a stock 402. Loved that motor.
