Dove, day 2

Postby Byron.Nield » Wed Sep 02, 2015 11:39 pm

Oz and I had a great second day out in the sunflower fields of Kansas. After taking it easy yesterday to ensure that there were no issues with shotguns firing, we went ahead and hunted the evening hunt. First three birds that were shot required me to walk to the general vicinity to get him to retrieve. The next one was lost and that's when I think it clicked in the 13 week old pup. He jetted out of the "blind" as soon as the birds were shot and I yelled "dead bird!" He didn't miss a single retrieve after that and the only time I left the blind was when I could stop myself from shooting a double... I couldn't be happier with this pup!! And to toot my own horn... 13 birds, 26 shells. I don't feel bad about 50% especially with a new shotgun!

Don't know which is more impressive-your pup or your shooting!!! Glad you guys had a good time and a good start to hopefully many good seasons ahead.
