The end of the Idaho chukar season is fastly approaching and Gus and I are taking every available opportunity to wreak havic on the local chukar population. Season ends Jan 31, and Gus will have +/- 30 full days of chukar hunting, not bad for a 10 month old WPG pup. I have had to invested in costco ibuprofen to get through the season, but it is worth it. As of today, Gus has pointed (solid steady to flush) 76 coveys of birds, most being chukar and a few huns which has resulted in hundreds of shots overhead. We have hunted some of the most amazing, steep, and brutal country while seeing wild horses, coyotes, antelope, mule deer and big horn sheep. The way that Gus behaves not only in the field with other dogs and hunters, but in our house is a true testament to the work that is being done with this breed. Cant wait for his NA test this spring.......... More to come at the end of the season.

If a beard is good, a frozen beard is better!

Not sure how I couldnt see the birds hidden in 3 inches of grass.
