Hmmm... wiser leadership prevails.

Postby 3drahthaars » Sun Dec 13, 2015 8:57 pm

I found this in my junk e-mails, a GNA chapter newsletter:

It appears that we've been taught a lesson about fairness and democracy by the Germans.

In order to avoid a conflict with the VDD By-Laws, the minimum requirements for the Group Vice-Chairman which were enacted at the 2015 VDD-GNA Annual Meeting will be rescinded.

Thankfully, someone in the right place realized the difference between a good reason for a rule and the real reason for a rule... the latter not being so noble as it was portrayed.

What were the minimum requirements proposed/accepted that were rescinded?

Something like that... don't think a single GNA VC had those credentials upon election. And, it never was an issue until this coming election year.

There was a good reason to make this change in that the VC oversees the Group's testing; however, this responsibility of the VC can/is/has always been easily delegated.

On the other hand, considering that the real reason appears to have been to eliminate a potential candidate for the VC from consideration... sans transparency. And, I think that the VDD overruled because these responsibilities are easily delegated.

Got to love the politics of a "dog club", eh?

Yes the politics of a breed club. :D I do not know the details of this particular situation, but I do know this is not exclusive to VDD-GNA. A rule by a chapter that was in conflict with the parent club, imagine that. How was this brought to their attention? I do know that dog club politics can be rather petty. Especially when the end game is control and overexerting ones influence with some kind of self righteous justification. I think it is important to note that a gross error in judgment has been rectified, however it occurred.
