JGHV Judge requirements.

Postby madduckdog » Wed Jul 01, 2015 3:42 pm

do you have to pass VJP,HZP and VGP..

at one time several years ago... I was told by a JGHV judge that you had to run the VGP but not pass.

I see VDD makes you pass all three before recomending you the JGHV.. but does JGHV it self require this ?

Yes JGHV requires that you train and handle a dog through all 3 tests. Doesn't have to be all with the same dog, but I think it has to be in the past 4 years. Not true about the VGP, you have to pass.

I think that it states that one must successfully train and handle a dog through a natural ability test and a VGP...

I've had my doubts about the honesty of a couple of RANWs in there declarations for apprenticeships. One I'm damn sure of, because a friend later told me that the guy had asked to "borrow" a trained VGP dog to handle in a test.

As a result, I'm skeptical of ANY such requirements for admission. Rules, laws, etc are only for those naturally abiding... Natural cheaters will ALWAYS find a "Work around". It's a fact!

My biggest issue is that everyone that I suspected didn't train the dog they handled or whom I knew got a gift to pass had turned out to be the most unforgiving, negative type judges I've encountered. They have absolutely no compassion nor compunction to fail a pup... A good judge feels for the handler, because he too has sweat blood in training his own dog.

if you look at the "Regulations on Association Judgship 2010"

you see section 3 c)

it list VGP but does not state "passing"

I beleive that the pass all three is a VDD requirement in order to recomend a person for the program.

There would be no difference between the requirements for VDD vs. JGHV since the application and approval all go through JGHV...not VDD.
