Hi all, I've been creeping here for about a year and decided to go ahead and make an account as I'm getting a little closer to my puppy search. I've been a lab guy but have really interested in the WPGs for a few years now.

Anyways I look forward to interacting with you guys and gals and learning as much as I can before I bring a puppy home.

Btw I can't do an intro post without a picture of my dog! (Figured it out!)

Welcome....

Great choice in a new dog breed. Do you hunt upland too?

Just saw I never replied, only 9 months late....

I just started upland hunting 3 years ago. Started going to western Oklahoma once a year and last fall I took a trip to eastern Colorado where we hunted there and western Kansas. I've started to like it just as much as duck hunting and plan on going as much as I can this year. I've only hunted wild pheasants so far.

Good luck with the new dog. There are several former lab guys here, me included. I'm on my first versatile. The posters here will make you feel welcome. You will most likely enjoy training a versatile. I will say mine responds better to a gentler approach than a lab.
