Here are a bunch. It is just like the DDs with all the conformation and breeding requirements, so getting a good dog is not difficult. Mine have come from vom Gansehimmel and I have enjoyed then very much.

Edit: go to www.nadkc.org/litters.html and you can see all the breedings with the credentials of each parent listed. They do an excellent job of profiling the dogs in terms of performance and conformation. So saying who is a top notch breeder is a hard question to answer, because of the breeding requirements.

Maine - von der Merrymeeting
New Hampshire - On Point
New Jersey - vom Nobelle Haus, von Tuckahoe
New York - von Brushy Neck
Louisiana - vom Smoky Hollow
Missouri - vom Wildwood
Alabama - vom Hidden Creek, vom Kleinen Fluss
Kentucky - vom Blauen Gras, von der Räucherei
North Carolina - Juniper Creek
Tennessee - vom Schwarzen Seil
Idaho - vom Adlerberg
Utah - vom Hochland, von den Sieben Söhnen
Washington - vom Trocken Bach, vom Wüstenjäger
Canada - vom Canuck
Illinois - vom Keljer, vom Lakota Kove, vom Riverwoods, vom Rotwildplatz, vom Sparta-GR
Iowa - vom Speidel
Minnesota - vom Nordstern
Nebraska - vom Covey Run
North Dakota - vom Gänsehimmel, vom Hügel-Hafen
South Dakota - vom Golden Sun
Indiana - vom Erntemond
Michigan - vom Beaver Creeks, vom Land der Seen, vom Nordland, vom Pleasantview, vom Schaumburger-Wald, von Solilo, vom Springborn

Good scores and being under a club doesn't make a puppy worth getting or a good breeder.

That can be true, but at least it gives the prospective buyer a starting point and a basis of information to work from. I've seen dogs from half the kennels I listed above and would not hesitate to have owned any of them.

OT,
You might try a contact with the NADKC breed warden for guidance on likely candidates. Stands to reason they'll know a few to point you toward??

Tobytx/ oldtimer, sorry I took so long to reply. Both of my dogs are from vom schwarzen seil. Give him a call and I'm sure he will.be able to tell you more specific on what he expects of his current or next litter. I'm sure the rest listed above produce fine quality pups as well, but only have experience with schwarzen seil so far.

I can 100% vouch for these dogs. Have a look at Dukes performance at the Kleeman test in Austria. I have hunted behind this dog for years and can honestly tell you this dog can get you exactly what you want.

I read the DK article in GUNDOG - not particularly flattering if you ask me...it featured a dog named 'Sam' who was quite the fur monger. What would the main differences be between a NAVHDA-bred GSP out of sort of 'traditional' lines - Hustler, Westwind, Hege-haus - and a DK?

Versatility, and the amount of EP bred into them.

What do you mean?
Are GSP in the states bred with EP?

Probably speed would be a more or less distinctive feature.
What I have seen on YouTube is that GSPs seem to a little bit lighter and quicker. The same can be said about the none German bred DK as well.
