Lena vom Slaney-Vale

Postby jlw034 » Sun Mar 13, 2016 9:40 pm

I'd like to introduce my first gundog: Lena.

She is out of vom Slaney-Vale, in Stony Mountain, Manitoba. Her mother is Heather vom Slaney-Vale and her father is Rover II vom Jagdkonig.

I can't recommend her breeder, Hugh, enough. Our email chain is approaching 100, and he takes the time to give in depth answers to all my questions. He really puts his heart and soul into his dogs. Listening him talk to about Heather, the mother, you see his eyes glisten.

Lena is, I suppose, your typical puppy. All go one minute, passed out cold the next. She's bold, curious, and very playful.

I'm a noob when it comes to wirehair coats, but one thing I do know is she will grow a better beard than I can!

I'm very much looking forward to the fun we will have together.

I hate puppy pictures, always makes me want another...

That boot pic is great.

I got to see Rover run his VJP, and even with my novice eyes, he stood out among the other 4 that day. Great temperament and focus at that age already.

Beautiful pup, I saw the entire litter when I picked up Lonnie, and they were all beautiful. I second your recommendations for Hugh, I spoke to many breeders over several months, and after conversing with Hugh, I knew that he was the breeder for me. As I type this Lonnie is sound asleep at my feet. We went for a good outing in the field by my house this morning, and he had his nose down checking out every scent. And I agree , they have two speeds, sound asleep, or full speed ahead. I just wish that those puppy teeth weren't so sharp. :)

I'm jealous you got to see him. Hugh seemed to put a lot of research into the sire. He watched Rover for two years leading up to this breeding.

Those puppy teeth are BRUTAL! I'd like to make it up to Hugh's place sometime...if only to meet all his dogs.

I don't know about Lonnie, but Lena sure has a set of lungs on her. Can she ever HOWL! The crate has gotten steadily better, but she still howls herself to sleep each night. Tears my wife up, but not much you can do.
