Yeah, but that's the point where COUNTRY really started to turn....
to go POP,
to lose it's TWANG,
although I likes me some John Anderson-

aaaand we were SWINGIN......

He was a good story teller too. Reminded me of Jerry Clower with a fiddle.

Naaaaaah......it's musical story tellin time, painting a picture, songs with some meaning....in the country music venue, it's just that some of the OLDER stuff still makes a mark, even today.

drop kick me Jesus ....through the goal posts of life....

We don't make a party out of lovin';
We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo;
We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy,
Like the hippies out in San Francisco do.

I was mindin’ my business and holdin’ the fort
And I still remember how you sallied forth
And my mind, it was busy, warnin’ my heart
But, hell, you ain’t a cowboy if you ain’t been bucked off

I also missed Carrie's CMA songs, but thanks to this thread and Youtube I can now die a happy man. Paradise City indeed! 8)
