Bird Launchers Which Brand to Buy

Postby AverageGuy » Thu Feb 18, 2016 8:08 pm

I need to invest in some new electronic remote bird launchers. Pigeon size. Would appreciate hearing your positive and or negative experiences with specific brands. Thank you.

I have Dogtra's great thing bout them you just recharge them don't have to buy batteries.
Couple of my buddys have DT systems they work just fine bout the only difference is the bird loading door and the batteries

I just picked up a D.T. Systems BL509 and it's been great. I really like the trap door on the side for adding or removing a bird, the noise doesn't bother my dog when it launches, and it was super easy to assemble and operate. I found the best price on Amazon.

Have either of you tested how range and cover affect the operation? Any problems with moisture?

I have Dogtra's. They have been working well for a long time. Range has been over 100 yards in open terrain moisture doesn't seem to be a problem but when it is raining I don't use them. Wet grass I have not seen an issue.

Long time Dogtra fan here. For the boxes themselves probably not much difference except for the trap door. I've never had a problem loading the Dogtra though.....not that difficult. Electronics, I give the nod to Dogtra for several reasons. I like the rechargeable batteries and the flexibility. I can add an additional launcher by using only a patch cord, they are compatible with my wingers, and the duck sound is handy if I'm working duck searches or marks. Never had a problem with range (300yd marks with my wingers) or durability either. I recommend adding a small drop of Blue Locktite to the studs on the back of the receivers to keep from losing them.

Double pistol case, the chargers and patch cords are stored below. Take care of your equipment and it will take care of your training needs.

Lion Country Supply... used to be Innotek.

Great service, plenty of spare parts, can keep them going!
