First waterfowl hunt

Postby Stretch » Mon Sep 24, 2018 7:21 pm

Saturday is going to be Barrett’s first waterfowl hunt. I’m hoping for the best but a little nervous. Anyhow we are going to finish our blind up on Thursday and hunt it Saturday morning. Couldn’t believe I drew the spot I wanted on lake rathbun. 80 acre corn field butting right up the water and I can drive with in 25-30 yards of blind. So hopefully we have a good hunt and Barrett catches on fast and works good.

If you live close to Rathbun I could help you with some training if you are interested?

Stretch, PM sent. I have some young homing pigeons you can have and start your own coop if you like.

Just a matter of hours before me and Barrett’s first goose hunt together can’t wait to see him retrieve one.

Nothing put rain on our first hunt. Only thing we got was cold and wet.

I think my first 3 hunts last season I got blanked twice then shot a Sawbill and all 3 were 80+ degrees. Still all 3 were way more fun then training or riding the couch.
