OK Panhandle or South-Central KS?

Postby Deuce » Tue Dec 05, 2017 8:41 am

On heels of my TX trip at the end of January I'm looking to make a swing north to either the panhandle of OK (Beaver area) or South Central KS, Clark County/ Dodge City-ish.

Pros/Cons of both? Never been and will have 2-2.5 days to hunt. Looking for quail/pheas. Duck will be over by the time I get out there as this is the last weekend in Jan.

Not looking for specific locations, but will certainly take "habitat to look for" tips as it'll be my first time there.

You will find birds if you work hard enough in Oklahoma. Bird numbers are down from the last 2 years. Kansas is where you want to go. I will admit I haven’t been to Kansas yet this year but we are heading out Saturday. I’m expecting to get some good dog work in.
