50+ hour blood track with successful recovery!

Postby Georgia Boy » Tue Oct 20, 2015 6:49 pm

Got a call Sun night about 9 pm from someone who had shot a deer on Saturday. They looked that evening and again on Sun but could not find it. I told them I would be willing to bring my dog Dachs and give blood tracking it a shot on Mon evening after I got off work. They got out of class at 5 pm so I met them about 5:30 and drove out to where they were hunting. This was our 2nd oldest recovery to date at 50+ hours. Dachs did an amazing job tracking just over 700 meters down into a ravine and located the buck for them. The coyotes had got to,it over the 2 1/2 days before we found it but it was great to recover it for them. They are some college kids who have a few sponsors for their YouTube hunting channel so the hunt on Sat and our tracking on Mon evening were filmed.

Great find. Let us know how we can watch it.
