Future Springer Owner!

Postby 209hunter » Mon Dec 17, 2012 2:37 pm

So I just put down a deposit for a field bred ESS and I get to pick out my puppy Dec. 30 and bring it home the second week of January! :D Im really excited as this will be my first hunting dog on my own and I think the springer will fit my needs and situation perfectly. Ill definately be asking questions here a lot and I appreciate the wealth of info Ive already learned from this site. Ill be sure to post plenty of pics when I get my pup home! Any suggestions for a first time ESS owner?

I have always owned pointing dogs but was very impressed with the way a springer I saw recently worked a field. Can anyone tell me how they do on grouse in thick cover?

Congrats, my first hunting dog was a ESS. If i lived back in northern Ontario i would own another one in a heart beat, great on grouse, and great in the water. Enjoy
