The mutt's doing well, almost two. he's only had a handful of duck hunts, but things look promising on that front. He's about 50/50 on phez. He has had some nice solid points on some, and has scented and crowded some others. He's had lots of fun bumping grouse everywhere, and has yet to learn not to crowd them. Re-training with pigeons to reinforce his point on 'first' sign of scent, as he has had no formal training since july of 2014. He's had pretty consistent long points (20 + yards) as of late, on and off the check cord, for the last dozen birds, so I'm going to try the 'magic brush pile' next for steady to the shot and fall. Great in the house now also, with little baby sitting required.Great dog, great nose, great companion.....what more can a guy want!

Don.

Nice!!! My boy is about the same age. The grouse are tough to figure out for any dog- but getting there is fun.
