Congrats! Is this the Fin/Zayda litter that is on the ground now? I have a pup out of the first breeding from spring of 2014.... Good dog, fun to hunt and train so far.

Yes marsh, I'm getting a male from this litter. im located in central ky and will hunt mainly waterfowl along with trips out to the Midwest for pheasant and quail. Also looking at possibly training to track deer. Anyone have experience with this?

I am working my pup on this. One of his major rolls (waterfowl/tracking/upland in order). Lots of people on here with more experience. Would recommend john jearrney "tracking dogs for finding wounded game". I use legs from road kill that were dispatched after suffering (lots of stress hormones). And blood from any killed animals. My 7 mo pup has done several real tracks and training tracks > 9 hrs old.

Enjoy the pup, it's awesome!

Thanks Kirby, I will check that book out. About 4 weeks away and I'm reading all I can. Also contacted the closes NAVHDA chapter about joining. Going to take it slow and just enjoy the experience. Anyone else on here getting a pup from this litter?

This was taken after Hadli's first duck hunt. The opener was a soggy rainy day. I didn't shoot and kept Hadli on lead at the edge of the pond we hunted. My wife and my friend Kyle provided the firepower. Hadli retrieved 3 ducks including a teal that dove three times. Handled it like a pro and nabbed the duck when it surfaced. Sorry I didn't get any field photos.
