Labored Breathing

Postby gfd » Mon Sep 15, 2003 1:24 pm

I have a 3 year old male GSP.
The last few times I've had him out he has been breathing really hard to the point I thought he would pass out.
The first time it was pretty hot, not so hot the next time.
Vet did blood test and nothing abnormal there.
Anyone have any ideas what it could be?
Vet wants to do X-rays of chest next.

I would have the vet x-ray the dog.

Never ask a man what kind of dog he has. If he has a Lab he'll tell you, if he does not, you don't want to shame him by asking.

if the dog has otherwise been kept in good shape this could be a real serious problem, anything from hertworms to congestive heart failure to tumors to god knows what. Anytime you see a sudden drastic change in a dogs overall performance and or health the odds are it's somethign pretty serious so don't spend a whole lot of time guessing get them to the vet! CR
