Do you know if there is any help for a 4 year old golden retriever that has "Mandibular Myositis" He is currently on 10mg. of prednisone again and gradually weaned off. He can only part his front teeth about 1 inch, has lost all muscle mass to his face and his eyes are sunken in. Is there something else that we can do for this poor dog as I don't want him to suffer any more.
Is there something else that would work better than steroids and keep him from these terrible flare ups.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks,
Jan

Have you tried veterinary accupuncture? My dog was completely cured in less than a month with only three treatments. I was told by the vet that diagnosed him that most dogs never fully recover but my dog hasn't had any problems in over 4 years since his last needle treatment.

Good luck!

Ask your Vet about manipulation under anesthesia for the tempero-mandibular joint.
