Hi, what in your opinion is the best way to give this suppliment and are there any drawbacks to each?

Whichever way is distributed by a legitimate manufacturer and you can give your dog on a consistent basis.

Because of the additives, I don't like the chewables.
Gel Caps are fine, but expensive compared to the liquid that is much less expensive.
Make sure it has a 2 : 1 ratio of EPA to DHA and adequate Vitamin E to protect the oil from oxidation once it's in the dog.
