Hernia Update

Postby NEIowaHunter » Sat Jul 11, 2015 9:29 pm

Went to the vet today. The regular vet was back. Upon examination, she confirmed that there is indeed a umbilical hernia. She described the size as being less than 1cm (she noted smaller than the tip of her pinkie). I told her that it has become increasingly hard to find. She said that she will check again at 6 months (Grover is 16 weeks), and we will make a further determination at that time. She also said, that given its size, it might close. She cautioned me to examine the dog frequently. She also was perfectly OK with not neutering until 12-18 months, if at all.

Will keep you all updated as this progresses. Thanks again for all your help on the previous thread.

So glad to hear that the vet thinks the hernia will perhaps disappear. Sounds like your worries are probably over. Way to go.
