Human and vet med have been barking up the cancer vaccine tree for a generation, results haven't been exceptional so far. My Boykin received the melanoma vaccine after excision of an oral lesion. He outlived median by 3-4 months but no cure. The N=1 story there isn't a shocker, some dogs are cured with surgery and I've seen a dog hunt 2 seasons after an amputation(hind limb) before lung mets caught up to him. I do hope there is a break through in immunotherapy for neoplasia but I'm not holding my breath.
