Interesting for sure.
From AKC :
Expanding our Understanding of Exercise-Induced Collapse (EIC): EIC occurs most commonly in Labrador Retrievers. During energetic exercise, otherwise healthy dogs will suddenly experience limb weakness and fall down. EIC has been associated with a mutation in the dynamin 1 protein but also appears in dogs without the mutation. Dr. Ned Patterson, working with CHF Clinician-Scientist Fellow Dr. Eva Furrow, found that some dogs who experience collapse may have a unique disease.

EIC is the reason I switched from the lab to a GWP from German linage. In the long run I am pretty sure it was a blessing, otherwise I would still be running behind labs! EIC is a heart breaker. My condolences go to anyone who has had to experience their best friend go through such a life.
