Food for thought on Lyme and vaccination.

I wish I'd have gotten the vaccine a year ago. Not fun stuff.

Thanks for the post.

Orhunter, did you have a dog positive for Lyme in Oregon? Not very common around most of the state.

Huntnvet:

No, the vaccine would have been for me. I picked up a tick on my butt in Kansas. Sorry, no photo.

The symptoms, besides the visual one, are odd. You don't realize how bad you feel till you start to feel better. Takes three weeks of a four week period on Doxy to feel better.

Sorry to hear that, hope you get resolution from the symptoms.

Did your dr tell you that the antibiotics would completely clear it, or chance of returning? I'm curious because I've heard differing opinions on the efficacy of doxy in humans.

Thanks for the personal info:)

Vet: Been wondering the same thing. Want to go in for blood test to see if I'm actually cured. I'm not feeling like I should and haven't for a long time. Makes day to day a bit difficult.

Well, I wish you the best. Would be interested in what your dr says if you ask.

Hopefully it doesn't get in the way of hunting!!
