Eye discharge

Postby Scott Linden » Thu May 09, 2013 11:07 am

I'm out of town, and the boarding kennel just called to tell me Buddy has green discharge coming from both eyes. I've got a call into my vet but would also appreciate any advice from you all. It's allergy season on the high desert ... could it just be hay fever? Thanks.

Grass seeds way back behind the eye. Flushing might get them, probably not but worth a try. I see a vet visit to numb the eye the probing behind the eye with a q-tip.

My setter has had that for a couple weeks now. I attributed it to straw and hay in the kennel along with allergy season. Vet said to put eye drops in to see if the moistness cleared it up. It didn't. Got some medicated drops (vet prescribed) from WallyMart and after less than a week it is a LOT better.
