How do you get a pup to stop this disgusting behavior?

Mine usually won't eat dog stools but sometimes he does (he never eats his own) but he sure eats rabbit, deer, and other critters turds like they're candy. I can't stand it either. Not sure what can be done about it, either patience and hope he outgrows it or perhaps use the collar to break him of it?

use the collar to break with a stern no. I had to do it initially and it only took some minor reinforcement, my collar vibrates as well as stims. Used the vibrate feature for him to understand neg behaviour then used the stim if he persisted. Resolved within a couple of weeks

Add pineapple to the food or there is a product on the market called "Forbid" that you mix in the food.
