Has she been Spayed ???? If so how old was she when it was done ? Incontinence is one of the side effects of early Spaying .

They both were spayed at or before 8 mo.
Is it that common among spayed females

Also bad legs .... I understand that the vet can give them a hormone [ sp] shot to help with the leaking . My last Lab also had this problem + 2 operations in a yr on her back legs . It was worth it ...

Another reason to wait until the time is right to spay or neuter a dog.

When long bone growth is basically completed and "growth plates" have sealed.

14 months at least.

Where did you find info that spaying is to be done after 14 months to avoid this, Doc E? I am curious.

Our Griff leaked quite a bit while sleeping (from 3-4 months old) but has stopped. We were told to delay spaying until after the first heat. Seems she has a slightly recessed vulva and there is the possibility going through heat will resolve that and a tendency for future leaking.
